Yesterday the beautiful ex Grey’s Anatomy star Katherine Heigl pledged $1 million to spray and neuter programmes in LA.
According to Reuters she’s kicking off the pet initiative to increase awareness and help curb the pet population crisis. Each year 500,000 animals without homes are sheltered and euthanised in California, costing the state $250 million.
But is that the real reason?
Rumours of Katherine’s marriage hitting a rocky patch due to their expanding family have also started to circulate, with Hubby Josh Kelly putting a stop to Katherine’s pet addition. There are currently 12 heartbeats in their house – including their daughter Naleigh, six dogs and three cats.
It’s nice to know that Katherine has other creatures to care for now that she’s not operating on Grey’s patients. I’m sure those nurturing skills she acquired are being put to good use.
